My main bed, June 25. The plastic bags are loosely hung to blow in the breeze and (I hope) deter deer or other critters from munching on the baby brussels sprouts below. So far, so good.

Echoes of Versaille, non? It'll be lovely in bloom. The surrounding field is full of milkweed. Butterflies abound in late summer and floss fills the air in fall.

Near end of May: The Peterborough (New Hampshire) Community Gardens are thriving, thanks to much rain, warm days, cool nights, and enthusiastic gardeners.
