Rosh Hashanah

This Day of Judgment (also called Day of Memorial) marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year and the beginning of the Ten Days of Penitence (or Repentance), which end on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah is a celebration of the creation of the world in the Jewish tradition.

The shofar, traditionally made of ram's horn, is blown 100 times on Rosh Hashanah. Jews who observe Rosh Hashanah make time for personal introspection and prayer, as well as visiting graves.
