Editor's note: It's interesting to see the bird through the frost-covered branches. We enjoyed the pattern and colors.

Runners-Up

"Patient Goldfinch"
Credit:
"A goldfinch patiently waits for spring to arrive."
Editor's note: Nice close-up shot, clear, good field of focus so can concentrate on bird detail. Like the snowflakes.

"A Winter Visitor"
Credit:
"This little cottontail visited our backyard, here in Nevada, to soak up some sun on a cold winter's day!"
Editor's note: Simple, very clear, and very cute. Perfect focus, good lights and darks.
