November's full Moon was called the Beaver Moon because it was the time to set traps, before the waters froze over. This Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon.

  • November 18, 1966 US spacecraft Lunar Orbiter 2 begins transmission of photographs of moon's surface, allowing analysis of possible landing sites for future lunar craft.
  • The spin-time of the Moon on its own axis is identical to the time it takes the Moon to revolve around Earth, which is why the Moon always keeps almost exactly the same face toward us.
  • How much would you weigh on the Moon? Just multiply your weight (it doesn't matter if it's in pounds or kilograms) by 0.165. You'd weigh about 80 percent less!

is it true that this beaver moon helped cause many personal shipwrecks, particularly @ Cornwall? I do know it illuminated the construction of many a beaver dam, so large that even the beaver couldn't get part it. thank yew.

Above-ground crops are planted during the light of the Moon (new to full); below-ground crops are planted during the dark of the Moon (from the day after it is full to the day before it is new again).  See our Planting by the Moon dates here: http://www.almanac.com/plantingtable

Raised beds have less extreme up and down movements which seems as if it might be easier. We are not health professionals though . . . so we would advise you to consult someone with expertise in balance issues.
