Not sure which Old Farmer's Almanac regional edition to buy? Here's a list of the four regional editions and which states fit best with each.

For background, the classic Old Farmer's Almanac paperback comes in four regional editions: East/National, Southern, Western, and Canada.

How is each region different? The main difference is that the astronomical calculations are based on different cities in their respective regions to make it a little easier for you to reference: the East/National information is based on Boston; the Southern on Atlanta, the Western on San Francisco, and Canada on Ottawa.

However, all editions still contain special corrections and calculations to answer for all of the Unites States or Canada. Some editions also contain different stories and articles to reflect their regional flavor. Otherwise, rest assured that the contents of The Old Farmer's Almanac are the same!

I look forward to receiving

By Frank Anderton

I look forward to receiving the 2014 Southern edition of The Old Farmer's Almanac and the 2014 weather calendar. The Almanac is the best popular source that I know of for the Indian names for the moon each month, astronomical data, sunrise and sunset times, and lots of historical facts and lore. It is always an interesting read, as well as a good source of information. Thank you.

What happened to the Best

By Amy Daugherty

What happened to the Best Days to Buy a Car and similar inclusions?
Also, I farm in Southeast Alaska which does not seem to be included at all! We would love the FA weather information.

Amy, Alaska is listed above.

Amy, Alaska is listed above. It's under the "Western" edition. All of the regional editions include the page on "Best Days." Best days to buy a car isn't part of our list. Are you sure you are looking for the "Old" Farmer's Almanac? There are other, smaller almanacs out there.
