I had to break the ice on the bird bath this morning. Golly Gosh it's getting colder by the day. We have been told to expect artic conditions soon. We have been stocking up so's if we get a real bad long winter we can stay put and leave the fool hardy to go out.

For you interest it was 18C today but -1C last night and the same tonight. High Summer by day and bloody freezing by night.

The heat has been on but the furnace does not run except at night when the temp is in the 40's. Still holding off on the window plastic as well..
This plastic you talk about. We have double glazed glass that keeps heat out in summer and heat in in winter. Is what you are talking about extra on top of this? Or do you just wrap your house up in a bl...y great plastic bag?
have the old style windows that are single pane. So in winter, there is a clear plastic that you put around the inside of the window with double sided tape. then you use a hair dryer and it kind of shrinks the plastic making a tight clear covering over the glass. works like the windows your talking about.
YB also puts his thermals on the windows like Dr. Dentins? Now that would be a Kodak moment to share with us here. :)
