For any of you who remember, a year (or two?) ago, YB cut himself bad with a sawsall, did a number on himself....well, last night I thought to myself "Hey, why not have something stupid happen to you, you haven't done anything dumb lately!" So..........there I was, minding my own business, building a fence out of bamboo...using a pneumatic nailer with 2" nails....and before you ask, NO I didn't put my hand in front of the nail gun! I was just nailing away, like always, when BAM, a nail shot out of the bamboo, and ricocheted, it did a half circle, and plummeted itself into the palm of my hand! That bugger went in half way! Now let me tell you, it DIDN'T feel all that great pulling it out! Thank the Good Lord it didn't hit any bones!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Mouse, I sure am glad it wasn't any worse than it sounded. You have had a tetanus shot/booster in the last couple of years? If not - should find out if you need one.

Fat lot of good safety glasses would have done YB, she got hit in the HAND !!!!!
BUT
I suppose that with Special Safety Glasses that slowed certain objects down, then she would have seen that the nail was going for her hand and had time to move her hand out of the way.

The hand is fine, barely tender at all now...and as I recall YB telling me before when I did something else stupid, "It only hurts till the pain goes away!"
