Yep, fried chicken, gravy, seasoned green beans, whipped mashed potatoes and hot buttermilk biscuits. YUM too.
Put some honey butter on my biscuit. Now this warms the soul.

Betty, good idea, sounds delish!
I got goin' with pork chops, perogies and fresh corn ... I need to put some weight back on.
Tis the time for comfort food to begin !! We had a special treat of marinated sea scallops yesterday with turnips, carrots, and garlic bread. Yum - Yum !!!

Maryescott, yum, scallops marinated in what? Lately I've been craving Carribean Jerk and Sesame Ginger.
As much as I love summertime quick-fix meals, I love the idea of starting a crockpot supper in the morning ... in spite of what a day may bring, I can be at least sure of supper (and more than one, I might add).

Redmink - I marinated them in good season salad dressing, butter, and old bay seasoning. I also use my crockpot quite often even during the summer, I am a big fan of crockpot cooking.
A large one for making stews, cooking a whole small ham, and goodies, then a small one for just a meal for the two of us.
To me have a crock pot/slow cooker is like having a silent maid in the kitchen. And the good smells that greet you at the front door coming home........mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It was windy beyond belief this early am hour, happy gals?
I am flipping mattress in morning, and putting the electric blanket on bed.....I think we are to see a low of 39 coming this week...............and the news said northeastern states could really see a bad winter, not like we've seen in 10 years, because of the presence of EL NINO....this year...
I may just hibernate all winter long and read novels, write letters, phooey on heading out anywhere........ha stay warm all.
