Maple Sap time beginning?

Today I saw a blurb on the Sap Moon as well as a statement that sap time begins soon. Well, a visit to PARKER'S MAPLE BARN in MASON, NH was well worth the effort and wait this past Sunday. Their mapling shed was busy with workers and tourers. However, from what I heard there, this season is about KAPUT. Yes, so instead of being the beginning, we are already at the END of this year's run. WHY? Well, it's the danged WEATHER. Been way too warm. I guess the Almanac knows more about that than I do though. I bet they predict more of it. The weather service sure does. Almost summer by this weekend? GOODBYE maple sap!
