under my name the date when I joined the Almanac. Then I decide to look and see when other people joined. And after I look at few familiar names I'm realizing that we all joined in August and on the same day.

So, I'm like wow, hard to believe we all came at the same time. Then duh, I realize that's the day the Almanac changed to the new format. And all our join dates were reset to 8-7-2009.

I think I started visiting this forum in June 2007.

So for the record, do you remember when you joined?

Wow, I'm Diggin' Deep

Okay, mine was 2005, and the first day of spring actually ... talk about being in the mood!

What a nice way to celebrate :)

Any particular reason you're curious?

Please don't tell me you're surprised that I keep my log-in Welcome emails!!!

Redmink, I'm smiling and no

Redmink, I'm smiling and no not surprised you keep your log-in welcome emails. That's actually a pretty good idea. You strike me as someone very organized and wealthy in the knowledge dept!

No, just wondering how many of the "ole timers" are still coming around. So many of you knew each other long before I came. The references to others who have come and since moved on of course I never knew.

It's nice to see to people dropping by or popping in which ever is the case!

It's Good To Smile!

... and good to not be surprised (alot anyway).

Like anything, it's a boon and a bane.

For the longest time, I got paid to know ... now it's hard to stop ... and put more of it to a personal thing, which may explain why I'm so busy volunteering ... that's it, it really doesn't get any more complicated than that, and I hope I haven't annoyed anyone (oh I'm sure a little).

Anyway,
And Elsie and Bill are on par as I'm sure are you too Lantanaand the rest of our forum'ers. :)

It's a good feeling to hand down treasured things as well as gems of knowledge.

Way back

It was either '97 or '98. I remember where my office was at the time and what was going on at work which helps to pin the date. I also remember Stuie's mole eradication posting that got the Labs started. I save so much stuff (emails, articles, etc) that I can't believe I did not save that one. It was hilarious.

This started as a home and garden forum (which is why Stuie was answering a question about moles) but the topics (usually with Stuie's help) kept wandering away from those subjects so the TOFA editors created a general chat forum.

Wow, you guys have been here a while! I can't believe after buying Almanac's over the years(and my Grandma always bought one) that I didn't connect it up that there would be an Almanac website.

Bill and Elsie, sure glad you guys are sticking around!

I joined either the end of 2004 or early 2005. I remember I was having a bugger of a time breaking the little one from bottle, diaper or something along those lines.

They were all too funny not to stay. :) It was the first time I ever actually wrote anyting on a forum. I had always stayed away from this type stuff.

I think it was

August or September of 2005. I remember it being when I traveled to Texas to visit my parents.
I think I started to hit up this board because of the graphic nature of some other boards on the web.

Wow Duomom and Larabug - you

Wow Duomom and Larabug - you guys have been here awhile.

This was my first forum too, I had never participated on one until I found the almanac. Just seemed harmless and family oriented. I mean less face it where you go can to learn about gardening, cooking, the moon and stars, and the weather - all in one place!

Somewhere around 2005 I think!

I too never participated in a forum until I spent time reading this one and just HAD to chime in! Oh we sure did have some fun here! I always loved putting in my two cents worth on the "Labs", but, now that Stuie has gone to be with the Lord, it just isn't the same :( Needless to say, I've not checked in here very often after that. I DO miss those days of fun!

2007 was my year

I was sent a Gardening Calendar by a friend in US and looked up the web site. The rest is history. I've said before and will say again. The folk on this site are different to any other gang in the world and may they always be so. The labs are a great inspiration to all who partake and must be a great mystery to those who read them for the first time. Come and join us, all the more the merrier, perhaps you will find the 'trunk'

Lemonade To Everyone ...

... from all the lemons.

Happy Anniversary!!

What was that joke that Bill Cosby used to do? He said that Carol Burnett said that giving birth feels like you are taking your bottom lip and stretching it up and over the top of your head!!
*grin*

I'm just glad WE didn't go thru that!

I still remember Carol

I still remember Carol Burnett's spoof on "Gone with Wind" it makes me smile now just to think of her walking down those steps with those drapes hanging from her shoulder and the curtain rod attached. And of course Harvey Korman...just to funny!

I bet it took alot of takes to get some of those done without crackin' themselves up before the punchline.

Oh, wait a minute, wasn't it live?
