Only 71 days till the First Day of Spring. Yippee.......

hard freeze warning down here in south Texas, USA.
brrrrr
It has not been above freezing at my house since last Friday. Last night we got an inch of snow. Not much for many of you, but my hilly driveway is slick, I may be stuck here for a day or two.
Sorry guys, but I love winter & I know you all think I am crazy. Joyce D. & I are the only ones that seem to like winter & the snow !!
So much for moving south to get away from winter! It's been in the teens at night for the last week!
How can any right minded person 'Love Winter'? Maybe the cold has got to her brain poor thing.
Winter is something we have to endure to fully appreciate the blessings of Spring, Summer and Autumn.
And snow is something that is great in the past and fantastic in the future. But in the present is diabolical, wished on us by a very sadistic devil.
What say you you winter worshippers?

Dig a little and dream lots and lots.
Sussexman, tell us how you really feel. Don't hold back.
I think snow is great if you don't have to shovel it or drive in it. I haven't left the house (except to walk the dogs) since Thursday because of 1.5" of snow on hilly streets.
However, that has allowed me to work from home and avoid a 1 hour commute each way, but I'm afaid the boss doesn't believe me when I tell him I can't get out. Atlanta didn't get as much snow and thawed out quicker. Yesterday was the first time I've seen the temperature outside my house get above freezing since New Years Day. It reached 33 degrees.
We are on our 17th day of not having temps above freezing. This is the longest cold snap in over 7 years here in Ohio. We are to hit 40 today. All the snow will melt and then we will have flooding in certain areas. I usually am not one to hurry spring, but now it can't come quick enough.
Thanks.

Just remember that English Spring and Alaskan Spring are two very much different things.
In England Dec. 21st is Mid-Winter's Day, in North America it is the FIRST day of Winter.
Where I live, in Western canada, It is a physical impossibility to have bulbs flowering outside in February and March. They would get a migraine trying to push their heads against the 6' deep frozen ground.
