Tomorrow school starts. I have had such a fun Summer with the kids I am not ready for this! My oldest starts Jr. High and my youngest goes to kindergarten. I won't be home alone as in a few weeks I will be watching 2 babies, but I sure will be missing my own kids. Has school started in your areas yet? Њąvє ą Ģŗєąŧ Đąŷ Њєąŧђєŗ ☺

When I was a kid it started after Labour Day here. Now they only get 8 weeks of Summer.

Heather, our kids start back here 3rd week of August, and I don't know how many "snow days" they are allowing, the weather forcast for our winter here in WV the PITS.....but they have to get 180 days of instruction in for students during the school year.

Around here, about half the schools go year round...lots of "breaks", all short ones, but they decided to try it saying that kids forget too much when left out of school too long.

Our guys don't finish until last day of June, so they get the same instruction time as your kids.

We did the year round school before and we all LOVED it!! Now they have gone back to what they call partial year round...not to fond of it.
They already go 30 extra minutes a day for snow day accumulation plus the regular built in days. They rarely even use 5 of those days and most times it is due to whatever sickness of the week is going around that has attendance too low to stay open. You would think that if they have extra days at the end then they would be able to close early but that isn't how it works.

Start here in 2 weeks. Last one last year in high school. She is going to have a hard year... a/p classes and vet tech program and working part-time. She is going into adulthood. Miss havin' younguin's around but I have my grandkids.

Some school districts around here started last weel, the rest start today. Maybe the Mrs. & me should plan a trip to the beach. Should be much less crowded.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems as we get older, time speeds up, the days, weeks, months and years seem to be going at a faster pace....................or else I am getting slower, nah....time is passing quickly. Ha.

I dropped my youngest off at her classroom a few minutes ago. It is her first day and only for 1/2 day. She didn't look back. I thought it would be easier this time but it still was hard.
