When the Lights Go Out....

Our Forums Have Closed

Hi, Everyone,

We have decided to close the Almanac forums.

The good news: Now you have the ability to comment on the www.Almanac.com Web site pages!

The Web site has grown tremendously, with 12 million readers every month. You'll find folks who are weather watchers, gardening enthusiasts, stargazers, and more. Find advice, get answers to questions, and share your experiences.

Find the Almanac here, too!

Finally, a big THANK YOU to all those who have participated in and looked after the forums over the years!

Sincerely,
The Old Farmer's Almanac

We've had quite a few bad thunderstorms, gale force winds here and even a vicious tornado north of us in Springfield, Mass.
I was just wondering how everyone fares when the electricity goes out. We like to power down the TV and computer so there isn't a problem. Also lighting candles makes me peaceful. What is your mode of operation during outages?

If it's a short duration, sit around untill it comes

on, if longer, kick on the generator and finish watching Married with Children...
