I enjoy looking at the Almanac's chart of BEST DAYS for certain activities. The best day to cut your hair to make it grow, or the best day to have dental work. I find it very interesting.
I just recently started trimming my hair at the new moon and my hair is extremely hard to grow. My hair has grown significantly and my next trim will be on Dec 16, 2009. If it didnt grow I would say , no it didnt , this is ole folklore. But in my case where my hair hasnt grown in years. It grew past my shoulders and its thicker and all I did was to trim it last New moon Nov 16, next New moon is Dec 16 2009.

I have always planted my potatoes on or close to St. Patricks Day or the full moon of march, but usually St. Patricks Day and it works great for me. However well prepared soil doesnt hurt either. ;-)

I'm a born and bred Country Girl who's been transplanted here in TX for the last 29 years. Raised as a Farmer's Daughter on the Plains of ND, I've great gratitude for the land and all of its inhabitants.
I first became interested in the Moon's effects several years ago. I raise Goats and one year, every single one of the males castrated came down with nasty infections. As nothing had changed procedurally, I began searching for the cause. Shortly thereafter, my Mom mentioned that the Moon was right to begin the Spring planting. It was then I remembered how my Dad and my Grandparents often would consult the Almanac. When I started investigating this thread of thought, sure enough! The Moon's sign could not have been worse for castrating those poor Kids! Since then I have always consulted the Moon's wisdom and have never again experienced that problem. Thus began my earnest studying and interest!

I've been watching the Moon and Moon signs for longer than I can remember. The OFM has been my "bible" for years on the topic. Some people don't think it makes a difference, but my personal experience says it can make an extreme difference. I currently have a gardening "student" under my wing who didn't believe me at first but was willing to experiment. She even went so far as to do control plantings where she ignored the Moon sign and phase. Things she planted "right" did stupendously better than the control seeds, to the point where germinations that are "supposed to" take 2 or 3 weeks happened in a week. If she'd documented everything, she could have written an educational paper on it.

hi, i'm beth :) nice to meet you all. i'm suprised this site only has information for people's sun signs! so anyway, here's all about me: i think the rising and moon signs are so interesting. i'm libra sun, scorpio rising, and aquarius moon. i have two boys. my 5yo is aries sun and rising, and taurus moon, my 3yo is gemini sun, libra moon and virgo rising. i got married again this past summer to a wonderful man, who is a scoprio sun, virgo moon and pisces rising. we have fun ;)

Scorpio woman, leo moon sign, and libra ascending... seen and not truly heard or understood Although, most would say that I am outgoing and at ease in the public eye. I'm not sure whether it's my call or that I am incapable of being understood. I, however, have the inate ability to read others like a book most of the time. Married to a Leo, I have experienced the good, bad, and the ugly all within the realms of the 10 years we have been together. He can make me seeth and stare at me with a cat like curiosity that makes me shrug--completely mystified of some of the things he says and does. From all readings I really shouldn't be with a Leo; but then hey it seems like no one truly fits like a glove. Complexity isn't all that sexy, at least internally.
