what is the bright star that is near the moon at night this time of year? can anyone tell me?
thank you :-)
For the end of Sept., that would be Jupiter. In about a week, it'll be Mars.
Interesting to watch 'em "play tag" as each nite progresses.
I hope the person who was asking about the "crack" in the moon back in the 60's is still seeking an answer..When I was a child about 5 or 6 making the date approximately 1965 or 1966 I remember seeing a strange looking moon one summer night. I remember it looking like an Egg Slicer had been used on the moon to create several sections and then they were "slid" apart like several discs in the sky and the moon looked "broken". I know that sounds crazy, but I know what I saw. There were several people that witnessed the same thing and to this day, we can all remember what we saw and the descriptions are very similar. I was in Alexandria, Virginia and the newspaper there is the Washington Post. Good Luck!
Has there been any changes in the moon in the past few weeks / months? Such as the moon staying longer in phases in the last quarter Moon, waning crescent, and back to new Moon phases? I live in the south central part of the USA. Just curious.
This is my suggestion. since lots of Indian people live in or around New England area especially south of it in Tri-State such as New York, New Jersey, Pensilavenia etc.. could you please try to inquire if you publish the almanac specially for Indian community, how many of them will be interest to buy in English Language? we all are eager to see if an established almanac publisher like your company can do that may be you could get additional business from Indian Comunity. Secondly if you cannot achieve sucess in this mission could you please advise as to how determine the planets positions in the sky on a given day assuming the base point is either city like Boston, New York and the with specific standard Time such as 6:00 O'clock morning for initial period? In india, most of the almanac publishers do that alongwith other information which may not be appealing to western people, but surely it does to Indian people. You might ask me why am I suggesting this request because some of our new born children want to study and understand this subject. since most of them cannot read/write our Indian language, they are missing out on this subject. Thanks for allow me to have an oppoertunity to present my view. If you can please explore the possibilities for your organization.
Thanks,
sincerely,
