I have just read that somewhere in US of A got 5 inches of rain in one day. That is a lot of wet folks. Did any of you people get it and what did it do to your garden?

Not recently, but
,,,,just before the drought we now seem to be getting over hit, we got more than that (6") in one day during the 100 year flood, then got 6" in just a few hours during the 500 year flood. Sure makes a lot of run off!
