amryllis

Hi, I live in San Diego, Ca
In my garden outside I have amryllis, they have been in the garden for about two years now. Last year they bloomed very little, what am I doing wrong? When they were in pots they bloomed much more. I had a friend tell me I should dig them up and store them in the frig for about 2 months. Well I did that 2 years ago and then replanted them but did not get many blooms from them that year just alot of green leaves. This year I did not dig them up I left them in the ground. Should I be treating them with any special food ect. any advice would be great. thanks Marianne Meyer
