ants all over weeping cherry tree

I have the same issue with my frost peach. Sugar ants are nipping away at the leaves and sap anywhere they can! Try wrapping aluminum foil or wax paper around the trunk and coating it with an adhesive. I used an old pillowcase cut into strips and then wrapped a roll of fly tape around it, then shook the tree clean. Poof. no more ants in literally seconds.
