You are right Deb - I grew up with Big Band music too. Wish they would bring it back.

Sorry to spoil the party

I hated the big bands. Give me good old Rock and Roll anyday. We could only hear it on Radio Luxembourg on short wave till the records came across the pond.
Now I still play those old records but listen to classical more.

You as well

I still have Elvis 'Blue suede shoes', Heartbreak Hotel,Teddy Bear all on 78 rpm records. They are a bit worn as I used to play them on a wind-up Gramaphone. We never had portable record players till about 1960 so we used to have this old wind up player and would have a party under the pier ( much to the oldies disgust)
An illspent youth ho ho.
In the school Holidays I used to work on the beaches all day and party at night and then back to work in the morning. It would kill me now but then it was great
