Our Forums Have Closed

Hi, Everyone,

We have decided to close the Almanac forums.

Find the Almanac here, too!

Finally, a big THANK YOU to all those who have participated in and looked after the forums over the years!

I have read that some of you folk have trouble with deer eating your pole beans.
Solution.
First put up a line of poles 20 foot tall. Grow your beans up the poles, strip off any leave or flowers lower than 12 ft. The to pick the crop get yourself a pair of stilts. Easy yes. No deer can reach up 20 ft.
Mind you I don't get any trouble from deer, elephants, kangaroos or any other bean eating animal.

Just for the deer,

I planted a separate plot of peas in the bank of the pond, just for the deer, but so far they haven't touched them!

We get long necked things

We get long necked things around here. They may be part of the wildlife, but they are not quite as exotic as giraffe. heheh
