What is the best way to pick and dry sweet basil for cooking

Small bunches -- 2 or 3 stalks -- tied together. Use a bamboo skewer to pierce thru the top rims side to side of a small paper bag, and tie the bunch inside bag to the skewer (this all catches any loose bits).

Hang up and keep away from heat and sun and away from stove --- needs a dry place.

In a couple of days, the leaves only should be dry enough to store in a lidded jar.
