What is everyone's favorite gardening memory from the 2009 garden season? Favorite garden memory's from past years are welcome too!

Mine from this last year was of course my 30 pound Blue Hubbard Squash!:) Hopefully next year it will be a 200 pound pumpkin.:D I've got the seeds already!;),,,Speaking of Pumpkins, anyone heard from Doug?

I still remember when I was small and was trying to learn to weed the garden, my dad was teaching me,,,how a blind man could tell better than someone who could see where the weeds were baffled me!

Keeping in mind the outcome in spite of my aching back in trundling water out to the porch garden.

Beautiful kitchen garden, nearly too pretty to use!

Great recipes spiced with all the herbs ... now where do I put all these jars?

Years ago the neighbor's horses got loose and were having a blast running all over the backyards, including our garden! Oh no!! Somehow though, they managed to step between every row ... at full stride!

Great topic Larry, thanks!

No fond memories here

the garden was more or less a flop for 2009. Looking forward to and hoping for a good crop in 2010

Next year YB!

That's a good idea YB, there's always next year!,,,That's what I always say, and each next year I am better prepared!

I was able to save 331 seeds from my 30 pound squash, some of which I am going to try planting around the edge of my new pond as an experiment,,,,those Hubbard Squash sure love lots of water!,,,I some times have the water running for 4 to 6 hours a day and they still wilt if it's a hot and dry enough of a summer day!

Yah,,,,it's only 2 weeks from Friday till we are on our first day of 2010!;D Spring may seem a long way off, but the changing of calendars is a big milestone for getting back into the garden!

I always feel like God when I see things I planted grow,,,so invigorating to see a planted seed grow!:-D

RE: Whole family gardening,,,

That's a wonderful memory! I'm only a year up on you with my gardening experience, I am finding experience is the best teacher!,,,What fun too! I have a new favorite every year I believe,,,so the experiences must just get better and better,,,other than a bad year now and then! Only 10 more weeks till Spring! (Not as long as it sounds!)

i love the challenge of it personally. plus it gets my sisters goat that she isnt as good at it as me. but I learn more and more every single time. hopefully the 10 weeks will fly by and summer will last a bit longer then last year.
