Furnace quit this morn!
Hope it is a minor repair! Your wood stove will be a help, but your pipes are at risk, aren't they?
While the brunt of winter may be over, don't forget the Three Chilly Saints in May!!
"May 11, 12, 13: Three Chilly Saints
These three days are often the coldest of May. Because they are the feast days of the Christian saints named Mamertus, Pancras, and Gervais, the days themselves have come to be known as the Three Chilly Saints."
In fact last year a local farm had a sheep shearing festival before May 11 and the sheep suffered for it, poor coatless things.
and called a repair man, he will come when he gets the parts.
Not cold enough to freeze the pipes, and the wood stove is doing good!,,,even with the furnace out, only need to use it part time.
Good news Larry, glad it ended up being minor ...
Now with us in the northeast PA/NY/NJ junction), we've got a prediction of a Nor'East'r dumping 5-10 inches of heavy wet snow ... check the canned goods and candles supply!
I was only half-hearted when at the last storm I was thinking that was it for the season ... HA.
Birds will be busy at the feeders today!
it turned out to be just the igniter, second time this has happened, but last time the repair man who came just patched in a different one for temporary till he got the correct one, but never got it to fix it as it was on back order!
So now, since nobody was available local, I got a mileage bill to make up for the free fix I got before!,,,You win some, you loose some! ;)
... works out! Just keep that mental checklist up to date.
Our Big Storm was a bust in the valley, just rain and lots of big flaked snow falling but not sticking. EXCEPT elevations above 1000' got it all!!
Now, I'm not going to say that it's the last. ;)
but shouldn't amount to much.
Today I assembled and tried out my new Reel mower I got on clearance, it's bigger and easier to adjust the cutting hight than the one I got at the thrift store, I also got some digging done on the root cellar. :)
I did some shopping today too, including checking out nursery items several places, and on-line ordering a bunch of carnivorous plants to help get rid of fruit flies.
But still got some digging and mowing done, got some firewood in to, haven't been needing much wood for heat, but was getting low.
Grass is greening up good! :D
snow flurries here in Ohio today and 65 tomorrow..
Geeshhh.
Elsie ./.
3/4 inch snow night before last, 40's.
