And remember Our Fallen, bless their souls.
My town has a great parade with lots of groups participating and not a few vets in uniform along the route. Our oldest church has a cemetery that dates to the Revolutionary War and it gets attention every year in locating the lost and refurbishing markers ... lots of history there.
Remember when you're barbecuing, in case of fire, save the grilled stuff first, the yard and grass will grow back!
As a Vet myself I really appreciate Memorial day! :)
Hats off to all the vets and all the soldiers! Happy Memorial day to everyone! And Larry- Thank you for everything you have done for our country. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend. Be safe and remember, don't drink and drive. :)
Love & Happiness
You are a Vet, may I be bold enough to ask what and where you served? Me I'm ex RAF, it seemed a good idea at the time so I volenteered ( spellcheck needed or a keyboard that can spell)
What was your excuse Larry?
... that's Marine Corps, right?
I get all confused with acronyms
(sorry, I'm having a dizzy day).
Don't worry most of them get me too!
... (in the Air Force, right?) did you fly, or fly in? Have always meant to take a glider flight, and live in an area of the small craft and airfields ... always know it's going to be a nice day when the planes are up early!
No I wasn'r aircrew, not that clever.
I did try to get into the Marine's but was refused when they found out my mum and dad were married (sorry Larry a joke, I hope)
But if you can get to take a glider flight it is an experience you will never forget. It is the closest you will get to flying like a bird. There is no sound it really is fantastic, I got the chance in Germany and have never regretted it. It's even better than a hot air balloon flight. But make sure the pilot knows how to land, like most things getting going is easy its stopping that is a tad difficult.
Not everyone can be the star quarterback ya know, besides, there's only one direction left from the top.
Your glider experience sounded great! Hot air balloons never appealed to me, too aimless.
What's the joke about it's not the falling that'll get ya?
Checking out the pilot IS important, but dontcha get a chute?
When living down by Princeton, used to watch the gliders getting towed and released ... always held my breath!!!! It was neat watching them chase and catch the winds. :)
