The white stuff is coming.
We have been told to expect our first fall of snow by the weekend. It is even earlier than last year and that was bad enough. Better get me shoe chains out and wellies.I dread the b.... stuff. Apparently the wind is coming from the North and that means cold. You remember the old saying.
'The North Wind will blow
And we will have snow.
What will old Sussex do then poor thing.'
Spare a thought for this old, cold Sussex.

Stay Warm

Hey sussexman - its nice to see your comments on TOFA been missing you.

Try to stay inside out of the snow. It will soon pass and then it will be time to start planting for a spring garden.

Fortunately we don't have to worry about snow in S. Tex. although it does happen about every 10 - 15 years.

Have a Happy holiday season

TxBob

If ...

... when it first begins to snow, dash out with Chance, hoot 'n holler, scoop it up and throw it around for him to chase, jump up and down saying "I'm warm, I'm warm, I'm warm" ...

See? It's not so bad!! ;)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY :exmark: Gobble Gobble Gobble Gobble

Larry old buddy,

I think you have the winter version of sun stroke. 'SNow Stroke' How in hell can you be friends with snow. Not less you be a snowman perhaps then. As for jumpin up and down well Red my days of jumpin up and down are way in the distance past. Likely to fall over and then that old snow could well melt with what I might call it.
But that aside I do wish you all a great happy, healthy holiday.

Sorry Colin, must be the

Norwegian side of my family, not much different than a snowman! ;)

And, after all the snow will eventually melt, though it's hard to believe when tonights low is to be -11 F, and turn into ground water for my pond and garden, so every bit of it is counting towards the coming growing season! :)

Well We Had Snow on Thanksgiving

And sleet too, bouncin' all over.

Went out to feed the birds and they broke all territorial rules trying to get to the feeders! I thought the titmouse was going to bust a gut singing out, and the chickadees looked like they were going to land on me! They were all here at the same time, a pair each of bluejay, cardinal, chickadees, titmouses, nuthatches, except for the solo downy woodpecker.

And of course my cat girls went zoo (from inside the house).

And a Great Feast Was Had By All. :)

It's here

It started snowing on Monday eveming about 6.30 pm and snowed all day Tuesday, Wednesday and today stopped about 2.00 pm. I have got about 18 ins of snow and that is 18 ins tooooooo much. Plus tonight they forcast -7C (19.4 F) and that is bloody cold plus a nne wind so it ain't the weather to venture far.But up in Scotland they forcast it to be -25C that is -13 F. To me this is an indecent weather. On Saturday is the first anniversary of my dear wife's Mum's death. We will try to get to her to do a nice arrangement of flowers but they will have to be silk as real flowers won't stand the cold.
Can't think where that year went. 2110 hasn't been a good year for us but my optimistic outlook has got us through. M y way of handling adversity is, the good Lord will never give you a cross you cannot bear, and no matter how black the night the sun always rises.
So TXbob hope you are well and PJ also read the words they are sent to you with compassion.

The Yety says "Hi Larry"

But guess what the snow has all gone.
Last night I had 18 ins of snow now nothing only terrible memmories. It has rained all day and washed it away. But apparently it is going to be b..... cold for the next few weeks but no snow ( liars). The government has been told by the weather experts that we are going to have a long hard cold winter. Ye Gods I can't wait.

It's gotten down below 0 F the last three nights,

and the snow must have heard me saying it was my friend as it jerked my feet out from under me today and gave me a big hug! ;)

It also must have known I was already on the way to the chiropractor as it put my hip that had been bothering me back into place and all I had to have done was the regular adjustments! :D

Haw, beat that with your silly fear of snow stories Colin! ;)
