Wow we really got some rain friday night and Saturday morning. My guage measures 5 in and it was full. A neighbor emptied her 5 in guage twice and it was half full the third time - thats 12.5 in. in 48 hours.

The garden got soked but is draining good so I don't see any serious problems yet. It will be 3 - 4 days of sunshine before I can get into the garden to see up close. Everything looks OK from a distance so I am very greatful for that.

Picked my first Tomato thursday just before the rain started. also sprayed the tomato plants Wed with Miracle Grow which is nice timing.

Thanks everyone for your interest and your prayers.

It's been years since we had,

a good rainstorm like this one you call a washout Bob!

I at first thought from the title that your garden must have gotten washed away!

Between the Miracle Grow and the nitrogen from the rain your garden should almost explode with growth! :D

Wish you and your garden the best of luck! Stinks when you have to start it all over.

We had to replant most of ours a week ago. 2 weeks ago Saturday we got 13 1/5" of rain in 2 hours. Flooded almost everything out. What did survive is doing great though. When we went to get new seed and plants, the mill gave us several flats of plants for free that had sat in water in the building there for a week. It all looked pitiful but with a little TLC it is all looking wonderful now. I didn't loose anything in my raised bed or in the bed across the road, just the largest one that is closer to the house. I have many friends around here that are still unable to get back into their houses and lost everything. Puts things in perspective but still stinks.

Thanks for the reminder. I am sorry for anyone that suffers from flooding damages. Hope everything works out OK for them. I am very grateful that nothing like that happened here.

We are getting storms again too!

Not big ones, but enough to help keep it moist here! :)
