We still have Dogwood Winter and Blackberry Winter to go for sure here, but Spring is very close! I am soooo very excited!

The frogs are sounding off at night and we are seeing robins. Buttercups, lillies and iris' are breaking ground. Crocus' are in full bloom and we have noticed both redbuds are out and the oaks are starting to drop old leaves. You can't even drive 1/2 mile with out seeing a dead skunk on the side of the road.

Today the dear hubby put out the last of the cold garden. We have out onion sets, cabbage, kohlrabi, broccoli, radish, early peas, carrots and kale.

Anyone else seeing signs or started putting stuff out yet?

Still a tad early here

Onions go out soon.
But unlike the rest of you who wait till the 20th.. Spring starts in TWO DAYS for me..

Spring song birds are out and so are the Robin's. Hoping for an early Spring like last year...

It'll be a while for my spring!

Last night only got down to 24 deg, but Thursday night it got down to -31 deg F, and Friday night down to -32.6, though Saturday it did warm up to mid 30's.

Silly silly Wall-mart has berry bushes in their garden-center already!,,,,They are in the heated portion, but may get in bad shape before anyone has thawed ground to plant any!

Well

My day lilies are poking out of the ground already. Will be about 4 more weeks before crocus here. Can hardly wait this year myself.

Long cold winter here in Ohio.

Thanks,

Spring has arrived in S. Tex.

Hi guys and gals - It was 81 today and 74 yesterday. I think we have seen the last of the cold - everything has started growing.

Havn't started planting yet - been laid up from surgery. Doc says I can go back to work in garden next week. will have to go slow and not over do-it.

It is pouring down rain. My Daffodils and wild daffodils are really starting to poke up thru the ground now! Grass is starting look a smidge bit greener too!I am thinking more and more of doing mostly containers for my veggies this year... I dunno.. we'll see how I feel once I get in the big garden and get my hands dirty! :-)

Hi from Spring laden Sussexman

All the spring flowers are up and running. Daffs, crocus, hyacinths and primroses are all in flower.
I have all my beds, except the dahlia, ready for planting. I've still got to move 5 bush roses out of the bed and turn it over a wee bit ready for the dahlias.
All the bulbs we planted at Mum's Memorial are in flower and the churchyard looks fanatstic with all the SPRING flowers.
I have mown both lawns now so the garden looks good in spite of old Chances efforts, bless him.
We are having it about 50F - 55F during day and 28F at night.
Hope weather keeps going like this.

We are mostly hanging in the

We are mostly hanging in the mid 50's-mid 60's here. This week it has been rain, rain, some cold, more rain....really aggrivating, but better than snow!

The crocus' are already gone and the daffs are on the last leg already. Noticed my suprise lillies are up and getting tall. The robins are doing their best to get all my good worms before I get the good stuff in the garden but as stated before atleast it isn't snowing!!!

We have some broccoli that was put out in the kitchen garden a little too late last Fall. My hubby sat a little makeshift hot house over them and they survived. Started heading up and looking great the last week or so and then today when I go to check on them, they had bolted. Once again, I can deal with anything so long as it isn't snowing! :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

We had a gentle rain last

We had a gentle rain last night. I had the lettuces and spinsach sittin gout and were ok this morning. I think I may plant them in a long rectangular basket that I'll line with weed block fabric. maybe another planter for the spinach. I am reading a good Book about all container planting. It's really great! I also just got another one today called TOMATOES LOVE CARROTS.

Happy Spring Everyone!

Am putting out house decorations for Spring/Easter, trimming wild overgrown houseplants, and rearranging furniture to catch the breezes.

What a nice moonlit sky it was last evening, hardly the tiny sharp moons of winter.

Enjoy!!

I second that! Happy Spring

I second that!

Happy Spring to us all!! Nice, 65 here today. Potatoes are coming up.

And why it that the only other thing I have in my yard that's green...is a stinking weed...last week I dug up at least 60 clumps of wild onions and now the dandelions are blooming...sheeesh...it just never ends!

What?

You're not eating them?!?!?!? *grin*

Although I'm familiar with neighborhood battles over one person's dandelions seeding other people's yards ... not pretty.

And so, I wake up to fat heavy snow falling, a little sleet ... in reading some of the farmers' old sayings, this makes for better crops, so I'll grumble-mumble to myself.

Take the good with the bad, right?

I could go for a warm springlike day right now,

but will take all the snow in this what is now seeming to turn out to be a blizzard! HE! HE! :)

Well it seems....

....that Mother Nature is screwing with us here again. Sleet/snow tonight and tomorrow. Blahhhhh!!! The windows in the house had been up nearly 2 weeks, with no heat or air on. Was so very nice!

My peach tree blooms have already come and gone. Hopefully this weather will not totally ruin my fruit for this year. The plums still have blooms on them, so they probably won't be so lucky. :(

Hope you are all doing well!

We've gotten several warm days,

and the snow is going away nicely, leaving grass greening nicely too!

Heather, hows your storm doing?
