I woke up this morning to 0 Deg F, yesterday it was snow, today it's the cold! I've got the engine heater plugged in on the truck, it wouldn't start without it today. I felt a bit chilly on my morning walk, but not too bad. If I ever get the truck to start I've got a dentist appointment in town, but not much else to do today!:( (I guess I'll have to camp out on the internet today!) :)
Definitely stay indoors! We had banshee winds all night.
How all the fur faces? Did they leave you room near the woodburning stove?
You didn't do what I ask you to do - keep all that cold in Montana - that cold front you had yesterday has made it south and it is dumping snow in my garden.
Well I needed to get all my tomatoes picked anyway. Guess it will warm up next week. Its so cold I can't even think of working in the garden.
We are still cold and snowy here. It has warmed up some though, but is cooling off some again.
The fur baby's left me plenty of room.
The cold, or the worst of it is mostly over for now, but we had wind chill's of as cold as -40 I heard. I had to thaw the water system out, my cousin had a burst pipe from the wind vacuuming all the heat out and freezing it.
.
That's putting it so mildly that you are bordering on the sarcastic!
Is it better to have the expense of a tape heater and packing the pipes than replacing burst ones?
I lived in one place where I had to trickle the cold water (but not the hot) overnite to keep the pipes going, but that was city water, not a well!
I know it doesn't sound right but it's better to have snow, as the temps have to be closer to 30 degrees for snow to actually form ... it's that high pressure system swooping in afterwards that causes the problems.
It's pretty hard to keep all the pipes with heat tape, and mine froze even with heat tape.
.
Yeh, I started thinking of just what that would involve ... too much, really.
I'm not a wind person, something about it is very irritating. I like the change in seasons, but hunkered up against a big hill and facing south!
I really envy your weather (HO HO HO), we have to make do with no snow, temperatures of 30F. But we manage must be something to do with the Sussexman character.
We have been told to expect 'really' cold weather soon, it might, Larry, drop to 29F at the weekend next. Please do feel sorry for us.

More storm is coming in over the next few days, not as much cold as last time, but maybe more snow!:-)
It's finally warming up enough for the snow to melt today, it's still not even 10 deg out, but is predicted to get into the mid 30's today!:-)
The ind is supposed to blow, which will help clear off the snow too,,,hopefully it won't blow so hard that the drifts don't form, sometimes around here it blows so hard the snow seems to just disappear!
