I bought a pack of daisy seeds and when I grew them I came uo with a strange flower I've never saw before. It has striped stalk with purple trumpet shaped flowers that only last aout 2 days.

A coupla questions

Hi Brenda,

It sounds like something from the morning glory family or rose mallow, but I'd have to know what shape leaf, and is it a single stalk or vine, and what kind of center the flower has with its stamens and pistils. Sometimes the center is like tiny little stalks with heads, or it can be cone-shaped ...

And is there a particular time of day it opens?

Although with commercial plants and all the new hybrids and varieties, it's sometimes hard to tell.

Whatever it is, it's very pretty!
