I'm glad I got the wood box filled, we have a decent sized snow storm moving in right now!

My uncle told me about a man who sells decent priced pickup loads of fire wood, and he is pulling up with the second load right now!

RE: Keep warm bro.

Thanks blacksheep!

The new wood is from standing dead, so since it is cut to length, all I have to do is split it,,,which will be easy since it is pine.
I used to split pine almost like slicing it with a knife, maybe I'm not in that good of shape anymore, but should be easy for me to split after all the cottonwood I have been splitting :exmark:

The wind is blowing again,

The wind is blowing again and I'm sure enjoying my new firewood, nice and toasty warm in here!

The smaller wood is splitting just fine with the splitting maul, and the bigger stuff should be a cinch to split with a wedge and hammer.

I'm sure enjoying my day of rest today, I sure need it after all the wood I split!

RE: Day of Rest

Sounds good Larry, that woodpile will still be there when you're good and ready.

It's cool (35°), mountain's misty, drizzly ...

Sounds about right for a relaxing brunch of french toast, sausage and eggs!!

RE: Sounds good Larry,

Thanks Redmink, the wood pile was definitely still there!

Besides the first two loads of dry wood, I have gotten three more loads of green wood, and have got five more loads of green wood and one more of dry wood coming.

The other dry load is for my mom.

With all that wood to split I'm sure glad I got off to a good start this morning by getting more wood split than I split Thursday evening and Friday :exmark:

All the wood is from expanding a private roadway.

Soon it will be spring!

The new firewood is burning nice and hot, so the furnace is running less :exmark:

I have all kinds of new snow drifts to replace the ones that were nearly melted just before this last storm :exmark:

:star: It will be spring before you know it, I know I will have lots of fast growing grass this spring, so I hope I will be able to keep up with all the mowing :exmark:

Spring is here?

I drew back the curtains onto my backyard and the daffs were all in flower, looking beautiful. The crocuses up in a mirriad of colours. A real spring morning and then.....

and then...

I woke up to a miserable January morning. Dull not a sign of a flower anywhere.
It was a B..... dream
Bitterly cold easterly wind that took the flesh off your bones. Had to go out to fill the feeders up for the birds fastest I've done it for a while.
Please tell me Spring is coming.

53 Days until Spring!

What a dream! If there were bunnies in there, you'd be in trouble!!

There's nothing wrong with making a paper chain 52 links long that you can rip off every day.

It's been snowing again here,

,,,Just a few inches every few days, I wish it would snow less often and more at once, but what we do get is appreciated by me, the snow drifts are growing!
,,,And growing snow drifts means the place will be green both earlier and longer in the spring/summer.
I don't go by how many days have gone by, but every once in a while the weeks left, which seems to be less stressful on me :exmark:
