I have only seen a few plums on this tree over the years. It blossoms every year, I was noticing the blossoms all are brown right now. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Matt

I can't get the pic to go

I can't get the pic to go large enough to see the blooms. Can you put one in your thread?

Do you have more than 1 plum tree?

Post Pic to PhotoBucket.com

Or some similar website for photos, then provide the link here, and we can see it.

My wild plums,

My wild plum trees (Native American Plums), bloom before they leaf out, then as the leaves emerge, the blooms die, which I suspect may be all that is happening to yours.

You may need to get a second plum of another variety to help ensure of good pollination.

Larry, Not sure what type

Larry,

Not sure what type plum I have as it was given to me from someone. It is my lone survivor but the neighbor next door has one that lived too. Anyway, the leaves have been out for a couple weeks and I just now have blooms. Only 5 but blooms none the less.

That's good Heather!

I've only had good luck with the wild plums here, they don't always bloom before leafing out, it seems to depend on the weather,,,,they seem to be braver with the flowers than the leaves!

If your one plum tree is anything like the Native plums, it will soon be many!
