Collards

I'm a simple man
with a simple taste
I love collards, you understand -
to not eat them is a waste.

Salt and a little bacon grease,
Cook 'em down until they're done -
Pass me a plateful if you please;
Best eatin' under the sun.

Pot got empty way too quick -
Cornbread's gone too;
I hope eatin' all that don't make me sick -
Do I look green to you???
