It's way too hot to even think about using the stove (102 degrees in metro DC today) so here's a chilly sounding and very refreshing salad. It's halved from the original which I found in Southern Living several years ago...I've made a few changes too.

Winter Waldorf Salad

1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sour cream
1 ounce honey
1/2 Tbsp grated lemon rind
3/4 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 large Granny Smith apple, chopped
2-3 celery stalks, sliced
1-1/2 cups red or green seedless grapes
1/2 to 1 cup orange Craisins

Whisk together the first 6 ingredients. Stir in the apples and next 4 ingredients. Cover and chill 1 hour.
