Well, NOAA had been predicting bad weather for Labor Day in the Pacific Northwest for the past week... and it really hurt business at the hotel where I work! A special weather statement was issued yesterday and today for wind, rain and cool temperatures; but after some wind and rain this morning it turned into a beautiful day with sunny periods, calm seas, and mild temperatures.
THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC has done a pretty good job at forecasting our summer weather here in the San Juan Islands of Washington. Let us all hope that their 2010 seasonal forecasts for farmers are as successful, because this is very important for feeding our nation.
