The Old Farmer's Almanac Summer Forecast 2024
What weather’s in store this summer? If you’re hoping for a lot of pool or beach time, you may be happy about this forecast. Here are The Old Farmer’s Almanac weather predictions for the summer of 2024—including our summer weather maps for the U.S. and Canada.
Summer Forecast 2024 (U.S.)
Summer temperatures, on average, will be hotter than normal from New England through the Atlantic Corridor, in Florida and the Deep South, through Texas and the Midwest, and on to California.
In terms of rainfall, much of the country has normal to below-normal rainfall, especially in New England and the Midwest. However, the West Coast, Texas, and the Atlantic Corridor will see normal to above-normal rainfall.

Summer Forecast 2024 (Canada)
Temperatures in Canada will be hotter than normal across much of the country, with the exception of cooler-than-normal conditions along the eastern side of Hudson Bay.
Precipitation will be above normal from Atlantic Canada into eastern Southern Ontario and in southeast British Columbia, the Yukon, and the northern Northwest Territories and near to below normal elsewhere.
The 2024 Hurricane Season
The Atlantic hurricane season officially begins on June 1. Hurricanes may hit the Southeast and Florida in August and the Deep South in early July and Early September.
The best chances for tropical storms striking land will be along the Atlantic Corridor in late August, in the Deep South and Texas in mid-July, and in Texas again in late August and mid-September. See the full 2024 Hurricane Forecast.

Month of June rained but two days in NH. July is already showing rain for another ten days. It’s been cold and raining. Tell them to stop messing with the weather. I don’t care if you want to block the sun we want it
I posted in my Facebook gardener's group about all this rain and lack of sunshine in Western New York. My fellow gardeners are loving all this rain. To me, it's too much. It feels like late April- early May temperature and weather condition wise. I'm ready for blue skies, warmth, and sunshine.

Warmer than normal? You guys are way off. Barely hitting 70 in nyc, and no temps forecast over 84 for the next 2 weeks. Hardly any temps over 77. This isn't summer. This is a ripoff. Summer is 85 and up, every day. Not 65 and raining for days at a time.
These old "hippies" at Farmer's Almanac have "lost it" so pay no attention to their drug induced predictions.
Wow! Were you ever so wrong in Canada's forecast this summer!!! like very wrong! Atlantic Canada was not "cool" it was HOT, not just hot but also VERY DRY! hardly any rain! especially in Nova Scotia.
BC was Very dry and hot in June & July. was also hot and dry in the prairies last 2 months.
So is summer still on it's way or??????? I'm in Alberta (and a week into July) and so far we've had 4-5 decent days since the snow melted, half of which were accompanied by 40kmph winds. Other than that we have had rain EVERY day. It's grey skies right now with rain coming at 4pm. The forecast says rain for the next 4 days. That will officially be 4 straight weeks of rain without stopping. This is just stupid.
