Gardening Questions and Answers

A new gardening question of the day appears every day of the year on the front page of Almanac.com. Below is the answer to one of the questions from our Gardening Questions and Answers Archive where you can find over 400 more gardening questions (with answers!).

Question:

My rose leaves suddenly look as if somebody has burned them on the bottom. What causes this, and is there anything I can do?

Answer:

This is probably a spider mite problem. Mites suck the sap from leaves, causing the burned look. You can try washing them off with water twice a week. If this doesn't work, you may need to use a pesticide. Check with a local nursery.
