Yes, you should cure yourYes, you should cure your pumpkins if you plan to carve it so it lasts and so that you have those nice thick skins. After harvesting, wash the pumpkins with soapy water containing one part of chlorine bleach to 10 parts water to remove soil and kill bacteria that causes rotting.  Dry well. Cure at 80-85°F and 80-85 percent relative humidity for 10 days.You can cure right in the field.
