I plant sets for use asI plant sets for use as pulled green onions. I plant in early march and live in central Tennessee. the last two harvests have resulted in mushy bulbs remaining on the bottom of the stem. while it comes off easily and does not affect the remainder of the onion it results in loss of the meaty part of the onion. I plant 1-2 inches deep and use miracle gro fertilizer. I have planted onions in the same location for several years and last year was the first time I encountered this problem. any suggestion for the remainder of this year or next year
