I never thin my turnips,I never thin my turnips, chard or spinach. let them grow and the healthy ones will overtake the weaker. If you decide to thin, use something to cut the seedlings and not pull them out as this may damage the roots of the ones you want to keep. The carrots need to be about 3" apart, spinach needs to be about 4" apart, Turnips 3", chard 4". I eat only the greens not the turnips.
