I tried making strawberry jamI tried making strawberry jam for the first time last night and canned it in a water bath. I didn't realize until after all was said and done there was a difference between liquid and powdered pectin (and that you were supposed to add liquid pectin after it was already boiling...thus it boiled away with the sugar and berries the whole time) and only used one pouch of liquid pectin. Is the jam still going to store well? It doesn't seem to be setting up very thick :( Not sure if my newbi-ness just ruined the whole batch.
