An excellent loaf with a hint of apple-pie taste built right in.


1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2-1/2 lbs. ground beef
1-1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
2 cups finely chopped apples, peeled and cored
3 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1 tablespoon prepared mustard, or 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup catsup


Saute onion in butter until soft. Then combine all ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Form into loaf and place in 10”x14” baking pan (or pack into large greased loaf pan). Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
