Nothing beats this on a hot, humid day in berry season. Works well with any kind of berry.

Yield: One 8-ounce glass

  • 1/3 cup berries, crushed
  • 3/4 cup strong tea
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ice cubes or cubes of frozen juice
  • Garnish:
  • fresh berries
  • sprig of mint

Puree berries in blender; strain to remove seeds. Pour into a tall glass. Add tea, sugar, and lemon juice; stir to dissolve sugar. Add ice cubes or juice cubes and serve garnished with fresh fruit or a sprig of mint.
