Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the flour, bran, brown sugar, dates and spice. In a small saucepan combine the butter, honey and milk. Heat until the butter is melted; pour into the dry ingredients. Turn onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Roll the dough to about ½-inch thick. Cut out the scones using a 2-½-inch round cutter. Place the scones on a baking sheet and brush with milk. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown.
