Fudge-like and full of nuts. --Colby Hill Inn, Henniker, New Hampshire
Yield: Makes about 3 dozen
- 1 cup butter
- 8 squares baker's chocolate
- 3-1/3 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter and chocolate in large saucepan. Remove from heat, add sugar, and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in salt, flour, nuts, and vanilla, mixing well; pour into greased 15x11-inch cookie sheet with sides. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Do not overcook.
