- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream the butter until light and gradually add the sugar. Beat in the eggs and flavorings and add the flour and salt a little at a time to make a stiff dough. Chill, then roll 1/8 inch thick and cut out. (This dough is good for fancy shaped cookie cutters.) Decorate the cookies if you wish with pieces of candied fruit or nuts. Bake in a 350 degree F oven until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
