Forget mimosas. This sparkling (okay, slightly boozy) fruit dish is a very happy start to brunch.
Yield: 4 servings
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Start to Finish Time: 40 minutes
- 1 pound fresh strawberries
- 1-1/2 cups sparkling wine (such as Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
- 24 ounces plain or vanilla Greek yogurt (optional)
Hull strawberries and slice 1/4 inch thick. In a medium-size bowl, pour wine over strawberries and let sit 30–45 minutes (the longer they sit, the more potent they’ll be).
Taste strawberries for sweetness; add sugar if you like. Serve plain or over yogurt.
