Serve the corn as soon as possible after it is picked. If it must wait a few hours, shuck it and cover with cold water. In a large kettle, bring enough water to cover the corn to a rapid boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt for each quart of water. Boil the corn 3-5 minutes. It will be very tender. Serve with butter and salt.
