Cranberry Salad

A tangy, colorful salad which is a traditional Thanksgiving dish of the Phifer family.


3 cups fresh cranberries
2 cups water
2-1/2 cups sugar
2 packages lemon gelatin
1 cup crushed pineapple (drained)
1 cup cherries or pink grapes
1 cup chopped walnuts


Cook the cranberries in the sugar and water until the berries pop. Remove from heat. Dissolve the gelatin in this mixture and cool slightly. Add the pineapple, cherries or grapes, and walnuts. Serve with Golden Dressing.
