This recipe makes enough to serve with 2 quarts soup or stew.
Yield: Makes approximately 12
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons shortening or lard
- 3/4 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients and work in shortening. Add milk to make soft dough. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto top of hot soup or stew. Cook, uncovered, 10 to 12 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
