This came from my husband's mother.

• 7 eggs
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon lemon extract
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups all-purpose flour

Mix all ingredients together, except flour, and mix for about 5 minutes or until well blended. Add flour and mix until batter is smooth. Place into a cold oven. Set temperature at 350 degrees and cook for 1 hour. Do not open oven door during the bake time. Place cake inverted on cake plate until cool.
